RACER TRUNS 10

Thats right the Lil' Instigator Turned 10 last weekend and enjoyed a fun full day with 5 little friends having nerf dart wars and playing video games. I was really bad about updateing the end of our season results so a quick result cap is that Spencer ended up in Second place at dragway 42and he ended up in fourth place at Summit Motorsports Park after being in second for the Majority of the season it goes to show how important each race and round is, On a good note the top four kids were all within a few points of eachother so it was a battle well fought:) Godd job to Jake, Annie and Dylan and to Little Taylor to You Kids had an amazing Season cant wait to see what you do next year I will post some picture from the top 8 last day run off and we will post more later Just wanted to wish my little racer a Happy Birthday:)

WAY TO GO TERRY, WE THINK YOU ROCK!

Just wanted to put up a post n how wonderful we think Spencer's Sponsor Terry McMillen is He just achieved his second Iron Man of the 2007 season and we are all so proud of him!The same wee kens Spencer took runner up Terry took it all! It must of been in the Instigator Spirit to go out and perform because Spencer did an amazing job and of coarse Terry did even More amazing even receiving his first ever Last Man Standing Award which is quite a Big Deal.. We will actually get to see Terry and Rhonda and crew this weekend and we cant wait! Maybe we will see Iron Man Number 3 . Its so nice to know that your child's role model is such a all around genuine guy who not only loves the sport we love but also loves God and always is first to give thanks to the Big man upstairs as we all know without Him life just would be one big mess! The Lil' Instigator Makes it to The FINALS!

That's right Spencer made it to the Finals at Sat. Race at SMP and we were so proud of him...He fell in the finals due to the car not running the number so he is Now in Third but only one Point

behind the little girl now in second only has one more point and the same amount of feature wins so it is possible that he may be able to regain second place at the final race which is in two weeks so we hope for that if not he still is in the top of his class and we are all pretty proud of him...

So its been Too LONG But We R Back.....

Well as you can see from the last post its been sense we went to Nationals in Bristol, Which were so much fun, Our Team one the Best appearing Award and all the kids did really amazing, Spencer unfortunately lost first round after his car decided to speed up and out run his Dial in... It was very Heartbreaking for him as we came so far but we told him that , Every time you go down that track its a 50/50 chance and that unfortunately it wasn't his Day... After some big Tears and lots of Hugs he was back to watch his Friends in the Stands...My Dad ended up getting very sick and had to be taken to the Hospital by Ambulance, The Dr's say he has a bad case of verdigo which I guess makes you feel like your dying, But on a good note he was back at the track for Spencers First round even though he didn't feel to good...I don't think we will ever get him to cross the Mason Dixon line again.. see he doesn't travel much and we final get him to go with us and he ends up in the Hospital, but thank god it wasn't something life threating.. anyways here are some fun pic of our time in bristol......

Countdown To Bristol

That's right only 5 days until we start our way to Bristol for Eastern Conference Finals, Spencer is pretty excited as this is a pretty Big Deal for all the Kids that get to go and I am sure it will be lots of Fun For all of them, They wont know what to do when our 30 racers from Summit Motorsports Park arrive at Bristol as our Kids can be kind of Mischievous and Little Pranksters! Lil' Instigator Moves Into Second Place with Feature Win!

That's right the Lil' Instigator moves into second place at Summit Motor sports park Point Chase with a Feature Win last Sat. at the track! Spencer car ran amazing thanks to the co-crew chiefs of Papa and Daddy, his car actual ran a perfect dial of 12.90 on a 12.90 which we have never done! We all stood in amazement!Spencer and Madison were picked to attend the Jr. eastern Conference Finals in Bristol in July so we are all pretty excited here at Team Lil' Instigator and at edwards motorsports! Spencer's& MAdsiona car will be on display next week here in Town At the Thunder In The Streets which kicks of the Big NHRA World Nationals here in town, Its been a great summer so far and each weekends puts Spencer one step closer to a Goal he has set for himself which is to finish In the top Three of his class and Possibly maybe 1st time will only tell..... Runner UP At Summit Motorsports Park!

Its taken me longer than normal to update this week, as we had our final week of school YEAH!! and lots to do! The LIL' INSTIGATOR got runner up this weekend at Summit Motors Sports park Keeping a strong hold on 3rd place with only 2 points away from the second points position, Spencer seems to get more and more into every week and we are truly enjoying the time we spend together as a family at the Race Tracks... We are still in Second At Drag way 42 and are on our way to Eastern Conference Finals In Bristol Tennessee July 9 - 14 for NHRA, Now that schools out it makes the racing more fun as we dont have homework and bedtimes to worry about, We may even venture out to so more traks around Ohio and Michigan as we arent stuck on a schedule now.Thanks for checking in....

Mom Be More Serious!

Yep those are words from the 9 year old Lil' Instigator that thinks he rules the house! So we didn't have the best weekend at the track losing first round to a Red Light First time this year in competion lets hope we don't have to many more of those, its better to lose due to not running the number than a red light because you never get a chance to really see how good you could of done, Anyhow I have been told from the boss that I have to be more serious so I guess I cant joke any more about racing because its Not a Joking Matter.... Anyways we cheered on Annie hoping she would Help Put out the points Leader from getting another featured win but it just didn't happen, Maybe next time! We like to say Great Job to our Friends Madison Edwards, Kenny Case, Kyle Lane and all the rest of the Kiddos who went out there and did a great Job On the Track, You all looked Great! he best thing about the kids is that even when they don't when they do well supporting each other and cheering on there close friends to go far! Two races this weekend coming up hopefully they will be better than last weekend time will tell until next week!..Thanks For reading... Two First Place Wins!........

So The Story Goes like this My Mom and I had to be out of town this weekend in Michigan on Business at A Scrapbook Show and were both Bummed about missing one of Spencer's races but we had no choice in the matter as bills need to paid, we also had some other crazy bossiness turmoil to deal with un top of the show so my weekend was just not very pleasant, So wouldn't you know it that The Lil' Instigator himself decides to WIN the Whole Class and Mommy wasn't there to see it and No one in our Circle of Friends got photos, Yes I know Can you believe that, Thank God there was A track Photographer and I will have to buy them from him, but We were so proud of him and I am still in shock that I missed My Babies Big Moment, And I sure hope it wont be the Last!!!! So to make the story even funnier we were suppose to be back late Saturday night but after tear down and complete exhaustion we decided to stay and head back in the morning, Well we got a late start and Spencer had another race at a different track... And believe it or not He won there too, yes to overall winners in one weekend and no Mommy and Nana there to wittiness it, a comment was made maybe We should go out of town more... Well its not happening I will never miss a race again.... What a nice Mothers Day Present Spencer!! Mommy and everyone are so proud of you!!! And a Big Thank You and Appreciation To Daddy and Papa The Co Crew Chiefs That held the fort down and Helped a Child's Dream Come True!!! Friends From The Track...

We just wanted to share pictures of a Family Friends This Is Madison Edwards , our Families have been Friends for Quite some time and her and Spencer use to be pretty close when they were younger but you know how kids are when they start to get bigger and go to different schools but they still support each other on Race Days even if they have to race each other, that makes it kind of hard for bththe kids and th rents but at least if one wins over the other, It makes you feel happy that your friends get to move towards the big finish ,Maddie joined us down at Dragway 42 for the first time and just like Spencer she was having Engine Problems but she got to have a few passes down the track and every pass helps them learn more and more.. Maddie just got this new car which is totally cool and we wanted to say Nice Car Madison and Not to worry Your Faithful crew Of Daddy, Mommy and Kurt will get it running soon and you can take over from there, But most of all remember to enjoy yourself and have a great time.....

Week #2 Results Runner Up Again!

Okay we are back with race results from Week #2 of the 2007 Lil' Instigators Race Season, So Saturday night was our Season Opener for Our Local track and well that didn't go so Hot, The Engine didn't work even close to how it should and needless to say, the driver cant get to far in the ranks with a car that is having problems! But The GOOD NEWS is that after that run, Team Lil' Instigators Crew tore that engine down and Discovered the Problem, Fixed it and we were Ready to head off to Track # 2 on Sunday.. So now that the engines was Hopefully fixed we took the first time trials and were all a little happier to see the car and the Driver do well in the practice runs... Off to the race.... Spencer seems to be getting more and more daring each race, trying to play games with the opponent on the other side and is even learning how to stay ahead of them just enough and cross the Finish line, Thankfuly we ended up in the Finals against the same little boy as last week and Unfortunately Team Lil' Instigators Crew didn't dial in quite low enough, we Dialed him at 12.82, five lower than the previous pass as thinking he would pick up a little and wouldn't you know it Spencer crossed the Finish Line First but As Many of you may know in Drag Racing its not just who gets to the Finish line first but the Dial in And Reaction time and so on, Spencer broke out by 100th of a second meaning he went faster than we dialed the car and well that gives the race to the other child,Congrats to Him but Team Lil' Instigator is Holding out Strong Hopes for Next Week to be the First Place winner, We will have to wait and see....Maybe Thrid Time will be the Charm???

So here is the Lil' Instigator Himself, we just love these pictures because he just looks so serious, and ready to do business! He truly has a Desire to One Day Follow his Role Model Terry Mcmillen and with this kids will power let me tell you I see Many Days at The Race Track for years and years to come, But thats okay becuase mommy really enjoys it and so does the rest of the family!

The First Race Of SEASON

We started out this Morning and Head to Dragway 42.. This would be Spencer's first time at this track and the first race with his new motor, So the motor gave us problems but we still managed to get something out of that Lil' Instigators car! Believe it or not He got Runner Up First race of the season and that made Us all happy, and hopefully this means the rest of our long season will go in a good direction!
A little info about the Lil' Instigator
Spencer is a 9 year old little boy who has grew up in a family of Drag Racer and is now on his second year of racing himself, Yes that right they let little kids race....
He idolizes his sponsor Terry McMillen over as Hoosier Thunder Motor sports, Who is the owner and driver of the Instigator Top Fuel Funny Car.. A Mother cant ask for a better role model :)
So we will use this blog to keep our Family and Friends updated with Spencer's Race Season as we get really busy with this so this will be a nice spot for you to come and check it out...
